baby a : 3 months

3 months!

yes, you read that right. my sweet baby boy is 3 whole months! what a little ham right?? look at those cheeks…look at them!!

this month austin started holding his own head up {for the most part} if he gets really tired, he’ll just let that thing flop!
he found his hands. when jaz was a baby, i would always say that she was holding her baby bumblebee because she was always holding her hands together and stared at them. austin does the same thing now and i swoon! seeing what they do the same is so sweet!

austin took his vaccinations like a champ! barely even cried! and didn’t seem too fussy afterwards either. woohoooo. and a couple days later he finally got to go visit sissy at school for lunch!

he found his pitch in his voice too! not only does he coo but now he throws his voice which might be the cutest thing ever.

if we are friends on Facebook then you saw my post about having the most serious baby on the planet. and from the messages i got and online forums, it’s pretty indicative of the type of personality he will have. which comes as no surprise considering how chill his dad was/is. he really is the most content facing outward so he is able to observe everything.

oh oh and he is sleeping through the night! 9ish to 5-6ish!!
IT’S AMAZING!!!
i’m going to give it a couple more weeks before i move him to his crib. just to make sure he doesn’t regress. fingers crossed for us!!

we have completely weened to 100% formula.
{it was a tough decision and one i’ll touch more on in a separate post dedicated to exactly that.}
and mannnn can this boy eat!! goodness gracious! that being said though, we are still spit up free! you have no idea how grateful i am that austin doesn’t ever smell pukey!

austin still loves his baths. if he won’t settle down for bedtime or is extra fussy then we will just pop him in a quick bath and more times than not it works!
he is obsessed with his oball. he loves that thing. probably because it’s the only thing he can grip and keep a hold of haha.
he loves his teepee! we got this as a gift from one of our showers and it is amazing! he goes crazy in it!

austin hates getting anything pulled over his head. shirt goes on, he gets scared and usually cries. shirt comes off, he gets scared and usually cries. blanket accidentally touches his face or hair…he gets scared and usually cries. so i usually try to distract him and move like a ninja to try to get it over as fast as i can.

it’s been such a fun month! i’m really excited about month 3 though because this is the beginning of the age where we will really start to see his personality come through. maybe his first giggle, i am dying to hear his laugh. and thennnn month 4 we can start foods!!! here’s to another amazing month!

here are a few of my favorite photos from the past month.

i may look mad as hell {RBF} but i love this! i love my babies!!

nap time on papa

sleepy smiles after an early morning feeding

we started story time before our afternoon nap now!

it doesn’t get much cuter than that

is it weird that i think he’s incredibly cute when he cries? poor baby

put your dukes up!

nap time on papa again! the freaking sweetest!

the sweetest boy in all the land!

HAPPY 3 MONTHS MY DUDE!

our weekend adventures

friday

we got to see our boy!!! because my pregnancy has been healthy and normal i was not scheduled for another ultrasound. the last one i had was when i was 20 weeks. so we opted to do one through a private company. cale’s mama joined us and so did jaz!!

LOOK AT THOSE SQUISHY CHEEKS!!
this little bugger wasn’t cooperating so most of our pictures are him squished up against my placenta. that’s why his nose looks so flat. you can see in the left picture that it’s really not flat at all! haha i feel like i have to tell everyone that so they don’t think our kid has a shnoz. and look at that little pouty face! gosh darnit i am so in love!!!
he also apparently, has tons of hair and ginormous hands. cale thinks babies that have a ton of hair when they are born are weird lookin…sorry pal, shouldn’t have married a mexican then. 😉

after the ultrasound we took jaz to school and then went and toured a prospective daycare, which we loved! i will go more into this in our 9 month update in a couple weeks.

saturday

we had a lunch date with a very very dear friend of mine, my CASA {court appointed special advocate} from when i was in foster care! she was in town for some training and we had to take advantage since the last time i saw her was at my wedding! she had never tried poutine soooo..duh… we made her try it!

after lunch we headed over to my brother-in-law’s house to play with our nephew and visit for a while and before my dinner date!

later in the evening i met up with a few of my girl friends for a little petite baby shower. we all moved away from each other {we were all neighbors at one point} but we still like to get together and catch up! thanks becky, jessica & megan for the sweetest little gifts for baby austin!! it was so nice to catch up and finally meet baby hayes!

sunday

sunday morning was rough because of the time change but somehow we managed to speedy clean our house in an hour. i worked up quite the appetite and indulged in some fruit loops!! sometimes these just hit the spot!

in the afternoon we headed over to my brother-in-law’s house again for our nephew’s, olen, FIRST BIRTHDAY! although technically his birthday is on leap day, so this was his first un-birthday. we cannot believe how big he is and how fast he is continuing to grow!! jaz is obsessed with him and obviously couldn’t ever leave his side. we are all pretty smitten with him, to be completely honest! happy first birthday sweet boy!

well…most of my adventures included some sort of food and i ain’t even ashamed.
what did you do??

always,

our weekend adventures

friday

IMG_3616
we got off early thursday afternoon and signed all he documents for the closing of our home! the one we were selling, not the one we are buying…that won’t be done until August 18th! we had to sign all the documents early so that we could completely move out on friday.

a HUGE thank you to our sweet friends, britt & ludwig, for sticking a roof over our heads during the little interim we have from closing on our old home and waiting for the new one to be done being built. and for letting us use their truck for all the misc. items we had. we are extremely grateful to have such generous and willing friends to help us during this insanely stressful time!
so…be prepared to see a lot more of them, ya know, since we will be living with them! hehe

saturday

britt & i woke up kinda early and headed to seattle to start our girls day!
crepes & coffee to fuel us up!

FullSizeRender 23
i went and got the mane chopped…actually more like trimmed.
i always love the decor that’s in the salon. so fun!

FullSizeRender 20 FullSizeRender 27
then it was off to u-village! {britt had never been…waaattttt??}
my main focus was finding all of our flatware, barware and dinnerware at crate & barrel. and guess what, i did! here’s the silverware we picked out! super simple but would still present nicely on a place setting!
can you guys tell i am just having a ball getting to choose all new stuff??? i’m on cloud 9!

FullSizeRender 28
obligatory ann taylor stop.

FullSizeRender 24 FullSizeRender 31
double obligatory trophy cupcakes stop! every time we come to u-village they never have my favorite, chocolate peanut butter. but today was a GOOD DAY, because they did!! they also had these adorable pokeball cupcakes! gotta catch em all right??? even the carbs!

FullSizeRender 32
for lunchy munchy we popped in to chipotle and ate what could’ve been the spiciest pico ever.

FullSizeRender 33
after all the shopping shenanigans we headed home and rested for a good 30 minutes before having to leave to attend our friend’s one year anniversary of opening their bottleshop! we are so happy that they are doing so well! and what a turnout!

IMG_3577
grown up date night! even though jaz has been gone for a couple weeks now, we have been so busy with the house{s} that we haven’t had time to just enjoy ourselves, until tonight!

IMG_3610
after we closed out at brigids we went and walked the waterfront, not for the romantics…only to just catch pokemon. my phone died and strangers, that were also there to catch pokemon, let me charge my phone in their car! sketchy??? nehhhh they seemed like good people. turns out, they were, and my phone was happily charged and i got to catch more pokemon! however, we did stop to take advantage of this gorgeous sunset because, duh.

***side note. there are sooooo many people playing pokemon! everywhere we look everyone is on their phones. go ahead and call it stupid but at least this game is getting people off their asses and moving. granted, they are looking at their phones but still, exercise is exercise. and it’s hella fun!!

sunday

FullSizeRender 29
cale & i had to make our final trip to 2426 {house we sold} to pick up the few misc items left behind. it was so weird to lock up, pull out of the driveway and know that we will never pull back in. and we will never make that commute to work or see our neighbors everyday. cale said he wasn’t getting emotional but i sure was.

FullSizeRender 34
this is where we began. where jaz & i started our lives as new seattleites. where cale & i became mr and mrs anderson. just so many memories in the 6 years that cale lived in it and the short 3 years that i did. this was such a great first home and one we will never forget. we will miss a lot of things about this house, the proximity to all things shopping, our wonderful neighbors that are now our good friends, the brand new deck{!!!!! that we hardly got to use!!!!!} and so much more. although bittersweet, we are so excited for this new chapter in our lives.
cheers to moving forward onto bigger and better things!

FullSizeRender 26
speaking of which, we went and peaked in on the new house to see how things were coming along and they are a-comin! the front door was painted!!! you may be thinking…. uhhh, k. whoop-d-doo the front door was painted but to me THIS IS EXCITING! it means we are one step closer to being completely done!
we go on our final walk through on August 12th and then close on the 18th!!

t-minus 24 days until move in!

it was obviously a busy weekend but such a gorgeous one! summer is officially here in seattle and it is awesome! high 70’s to low 80’s and we are loving it!

what did you do this weekend??

our weekend adventures

YALL….
WE ARE BUYING A NEW HOME!
sooooo last week in our adventures we went and spoke with our current lender to see if/when we could start looking for a new home. she basically said… NOW. so cale & i left just thinking okay, well we can keep our eyes out but it probably won’t be till the end of summer. HA we were wrong. we ended up finding THE PERFECT new build, in an awesome school district, neighborhood and way closer to our jobs. we had to have it!
with a contingency though {insert pouty face here} the ‘contingency’ being the sale of our home.
so we put in our offer with an agreement of putting our house on the market within 5 days and selling it within 30.
okay…did i mention we had no intention of selling our house so it was no where near ready to go on the market? no? k well i just did and i’ll do it again…
OUR HOUSE WAS NO WHERE NEAR READY TO GO ON THE MARKET!

well…we called our bosses asked if we could take the entire rest of the week off {thank goodness i didn’t have any deadlines}. they said yes and we went.to.town.
i’ve never been so exhausted in the history of me, ever! but we got it done.
the house was supposed to be on the market saturday morning and we had it up by friday morning! yasssss. up on friday and an open house on sunday. yahooooo!
if we get ay offers and accept, we can lift the contingency off of our new home and IT IS OURS!! oh boy, let the ride begin!

k, lets start on the weekend!

friday

it is up!!!
need a home?

FullSizeRender 3
i actually did have to go to work on friday for some interviews and two young ladies came in wearing these t-shirts. “no makeup, still perfect”…i loved them! how confident of them, right?!

last weekend i went to a stella & dot jewelry party and i got my order! i love these ear jackets and renegade bracelet! rose gold is my jam lately.
linked here // renegade cluster bracelet  //  eva ear jacket

after work we had to be out of the house for the weekend so we went and stayed with one of my close friends! thanks for putting us up kellye & stefan! ❤

saturday

FullSizeRender 5
i was in desperate need of a mani/pedi, so kellye and i went to the spa and then treated ourselves to some delicious mexican food!

we played some late night games once everyone got home from their errands and the kiddo was asleep.

sunday

jessica-cale-wedding-726-2
happy father’s day to the best dad i could have ever asked for jazmina.
thank you for being the papa you didn’t have to be, honey. i love you more than you know!

FullSizeRender 4
once we were all up and at em, we went to a renowned cafe in snohomish.
the wait was 2 hours, the hanger was real.

FullSizeRender 7
because this all happened so fast and the closing date for our new house is august 18, jaz will most likely be leaving for texas while we are still in our current home and coming home at the end of august to a brand spankin’ new casa! so we decided to take her to the new house to let her choose a room!

FullSizeRender 9
uggghhh, i am so excited!!!! i can’t wait to share more with you guys!

FullSizeRender 10
after going through the new home, we got the call from our realtor that we could come home. yay! we missed our bed! lulu and chandler are obviously not fans of car rides. why does loo do this? every time we are in the car she pants like a dog. what a weirdo.

uhhhhh it was such a crazy, stressful, busy week/weekend! i am so glad that it’s over but i have a feeling that was just the beginning. eeeekkk!

always,
-jess
